First Post

Hello and welcome to my blog entitled sea fishing at Whitby. Within this blog I will record a lot of the things I do in relation to my hobbey of Fishing. The things I will discuss here include:

  • Bait collecting around the Whitby area in north Yorkshire
  • Shore and Rock Fishing / angling around the Whitby Area in North Yorkshire
  • Boat fishing off the coast of whitby in the north east of England
  • Writing and updating websites related to fishing in the Whitby Area, North Yorkshire
Amongst the websites I have written and updated so far are the following. Please feel free to take a look at them anytime you wish.

  • www.whitbyseanglers.co.uk or whitby sea anglers is the website I write for the local sea fishing / angling club here in Whitby North Yorkshire. The clubs full title is the Whibt sea anglers association. The site includes a background of the club , reguler results of the fishing clubs catches which often include cod , bass , whiting , billets , pollock , and rockling all caught from the Whitby and its surrounding areas including saltwick and runswick bay, Port mulgrave , staithes , boulby and Robin hoods bay. The Whitby sea anglers website also includes: a gallery showing the catches of the fishing club members, a season calender showing all the open fishing matches on the north east coast of England, Tide times for the whitby area , and an extensive archive about the achievments of Whitby sea anglers over the years. Basically whitby sea anglers website gives an excellent insite into club fishing in Whitby and the coastline of the north east. As with any site this site is always growing and it is hoped to add new features soon including articles on the Brittish cod Record a 56 pound record cod caught on a local boat called sea trek owned by skipper Stu Johnson. Sea trek is a member of the whitby charter skippers association for whom I also produce a website.
  • www.trotoncharters.co.uk Is a website recently written by myself for local skipper Paul (Dolly) Eddon. The website gives an insight into charter fishing from Whitby. The site includes a gallery showing pictures of Whiby boat caught cod , ling and many other species. Trot on charters is one of Whitbys finest fishing vessels. Paul Eddon's website can be located by clicking www.trotoncharters.co.uk
  • www.sea-otter2.co.uk Again is another website of a local charter skipper named Paul Kilpatrick. This site include reguler fishing updates which give an insight into the current situation regarding boat fishing at Whitby. If you like to fish from a boat and want to know if the fish are biting then drop by Paul's website and check out the fishing updates.
  • www.wcsa.co.uk Is the website for the Whitby Charter Skippers Association. If your thinking of catching some of those famous Whitby Cod then book a boat fishing trip from Whitby in north Yorkshire, this is the place to start. All the local boats are listed along with contact details so that you can make contact to ask further questions or book a charter trip. The association runs 3 angling festivals each year and all are very populer with prizes of up to £1500 for the heaviest fish being on offer. Remember that the uk cod record of 58 pounds was caught on one of the Whitby boats so your best chance of a big Yorkshire cod is with the Whitby Charter Skippers.
