Whitby fishing trips - Sea Otter 2 Paul Kilpatrick's July Update

Fishing has been excellent to date in July. In the first couple of weeks we have had ling to 20 lb and many many cod well into double figures. In the Whitby angling festival, sea otter regular Nick Ball from Rotherham had this great ling of 20 lbs whilst fishing the wrecks with mackerel which has to be one of the best methods for catching the bigger ling and cod off Whitby. We have also had lots of cod in the 10 pound area and on some days our anglers have had 30 fish each with best methods being shads and jelly worms, although the old traditional 1 pound jiggers have started to take some good cod again recently.

Today 17/072006 we have been doing exceptionally well on the wrecks and reefs around the 3 mile mark. Most anglers took a box of cod each and we once again had cod and Pollock well into double figures.
