Whitby sea anglers website

I have been very busy over the past couple of months updating the whitby sea anglers fishing club website. Ive been busy learning some new skills which includes a php include command for the menu which lets you have 1 easy to update menu file which is then automatically placed on each page of the website. This saves you from the task of having to make any changes to the menu on each page right across the site.
Ive also added a php picture rotator to the header image so now on each vivit to the site you should see a new picture at the top of the site. Thanks goes to Martyn wilding for some of the interesting pictures that appear on the site header.
Amongst recent additions to the site is a new area for north east fishing news. This is a page of regularly updated news snippets I find whilst search the internets various forums and article sites. Each news item gives a brief insite into the story and ends with a link to the page where you can read the article in full. The earliest additions to the north east fishing news page include :

  1. Ravenscar Steel and Blea wyke directions.
  2. Pendulum Casting - John Ward 3rd after 2 years away
  3. Saltburn Results - Lobley Still Top Dog
  4. 83rd Filey Angling/Fishing Festival
  5. Cowbar Jetty - Bernard Westgarth
  6. Whitby Angling Festival
As well as the long running whitby sea anglers gellery I have now added 2 new galleries to the site , The friends of whitby sea anglers gallery allows anglers to send pictures to me which I will then add to the gallery. Pictures within this gallery to date include cod from the yorkshire coast, holderness bass tope smoothhound and mackerel. The second gallery is a direct picture upload gallery which lets anglers upload fishing picture directly into the gallery for other members to view. This gallery is proving rather successsful with over 100 people viewing the gallery in the few months it has been running.

The north east fishing / angling match calendar has also been updated with information for all the north east fishing open matches etc including the Filey and scarborough anglin / fishing festivals. If you have any details that arent already on our open match calendar please feel free to email me to have them added.

We have also added a page detailing the fishing tackle shops in the Whitby area. The page includes contact details for both whitby angling supplies and rods and reels. There are also details of tackle shops at Scarborugh, filey and Bridlington.

For those intersted in locating new fishing marks I have added details of a few fishing marks in the Whitby area including those at Blea wyke and peek steel at Ravenscar.

The reason I have been so busy with the site of late is that I want to try get it to as high a position in google as possible so that more people view our site and learn about sea fishing in Whitby. I have recently been spending a lot of time reading information on search engine optimization which suggests that consistantly updating your website with quality information from your chosen field is the way to get more visitors to view your site and tell their friends. If anyone reads this and is able to help spread the word it would be greatly appreciated if you could add the links for the whitby sea fishing club which is www.whitbyseaanglers.co.uk to as many websites as possible.

If you have any ideas for improvements to our site, articles you would like to see included or pics you would like to see added to the galleries please email me from the email address available from the contact section of the whitby sea anglers website.
